    Camp grounds around New Orleans?

I have a friend who will be in the New Orleans area at the end of April and he is looking for a campground for him and his family. He has tried to get in touch with the New Orleans West KOA campground but they are not answering the phone. Is that KOA still in operation? Or can anybody point me towards a decent campground in the NOLA area?

    Thanks,

Buccaneer State Park in Waveband MS is only about 45 minutes from NO. Its a really nice campground.

Fountainblue over in Mandeville has been fixed up really nice. Visited some friends who stayed there a few months back and I was very impressed with how nice the state fixed that place up. Also the state park in St. Bernard is pretty nice. Never stayed at that one but I drove thru it and it looked pretty clean. Not sure how the bathrooms and showers are at that one.

All nice places named below. Be prepared for lots of mosquitoes.
