    Tourney qualified??

Hey guys. since I sold my Hobie PA Ive really missed fishing from a kayak. Ive been l;ooking at the Blue Sky Boatworks 360 Angler thats due to release next spring. The question I have would I be able to use it in tournaments? If you havent seen what Im talking about. Here's a link to their website.

It's made by Jackson, it must be a kayak. No electric motor would be allowed. Coooool boat!

With a pedal drive, it would probably be legal. The kayak market is undergoing serious change. I wonder what Hobie will come up with to maintain its position on the top on the mountain.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking that it would be legal but wasnt quite sure since it isnt technically a "kayak".

Copied and pasted from our tournament rules, I think you should be fine:

PADDLE / PEDAL-CRAFT ONLY: No trolling motors / sails / gas engines or “mother ships”. Your pedal or paddle craft must be human powered.

We allow pirogues, canoes, paddle boards and any other manually propelled vessels.

In their literature, Hobie doesn't call the Pro Angler a "kayak."

I wonder how they handle the seat support? Looks like a pretty thin pillar on a deck between "twin" hulls.

From what I've been able to find out, it's going to be about the same price as a Hobie PA14.
