For the bumps: where tag end is sticking out, if there after finish is applied - allow to dry then take a razor and cut it flush, then put final coat of finish

Feedback: Try packing the thread against each other ever 4-6 wraps so they can be good'n-tight. You want the end result to look like it is paint, and also more packing = more thread to hold the guides in place (=stronger)

Thanks all for the feedback on my first build. I was able to fix the bumps with your guidance.

I am working on my second build and planning to turn some cork handles. I glued my slices together last night using pro paste and placed them on the mandrel with a homemade clamp similar to the flexcoat clamp. I checked this morning and the cork rings were glued to the wooden clamp. I placed a very thin coat of epoxy in between the rings. I am assuming some must have transferred to the wooden clamp. Does anyone have any tips or tricks they can share? Also, how tight should you clamp the rings together? Should it be snug or clamped down as tight as possible?

Try putting a metal washer on your mandrel first, then stacking the cork rings, then finish off with another metal washer at the other end of the mandrel, then clamp tight. don't need to be as tight as possible but you want to minimize the size of the gaps to very minimal between the rings - so I guess really tight, but not so tight where you sandwich the rings and warp their size.
