I will have that updated as soon as I receive the updated info. Haven't received word back that Theo's is a definite. Unless it's tucked away in another thread somewhere.

I'm in Buddhaman was going to get a confirmation from Theo.
I've become very booked these days. Charter school is up for debate with the parish right now and we are hard at work.

Talked with Buddhaman on Sat and Theo would love to have the event. We will be more in contact with Theo as it nears but pretty sure he will make the event a good one.

If Theo is locked in then that is where we will have it.

Quas, Theo's ready for us. Let me throw this by you and the others. How about having 2 rodeos in one day. We can fish the morning, have a weigh in at noon. Theo will cook jambalaya for us --- on the house for lunch. He'll also start us off with 5 cases of beer --- on the house. We can start the second rodeo at 3pm and weigh in at 7:30/8pm?? Theo will have a fish fry for us with the fish we caught in the morning. It might allow more members who don't want to get too early of a start to participate. We could maybe have a winner for each rodeo and a grand prize winner for the day.

We could have an "Outcast" tournament for the second go round. Sounds like a good time to me! Are there any places to stay around Theo's? Sharon and I may make a weekend getaway out of it for my birthday.

There are some hotels on the southside of Houma near the airport, and probably a few places toward Cocodrie.

There have been a lot of new hotels built recently in Houma. I'll try and get numbers for those that aren't presently in the telephone book. I don't know who the official organizers of the event are, but I'll get Theo's cell # so that they can call and speak directly to Theo. I've been able to get a $500 donation commitment from down here in Houma towards the event that will pretty much pay for food and beer. I need to get the club's taxable donation ID to obtain that commitment. The club may have to add some to the pot, but it shouldn't be much. I guess it depends on the turnout. I'll also go down to Theo's and video so that y'all can get a better idea of what to expect and what to plan for. He has a huge open deck where a sound system could be set up for music and dancing. I plan on bringing my own broomstick to dance with!!
I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers with the original tournament setup, but we could extend the activities if y'all want and have a lot of fun!
Please, though, get me the tax ID number so I can get the $500.

I'm the official organizer and Rev helps out with this particular event. The rest of the tournament series events are run by me. Fred (WACT) is responsible for the two big events and I'm his helper. But, needless to say, we have a great group that is always willing to lend a hand when the officers need it.

I always love reading about the inner goings on of an organization! Sort of like being a board member without the duties.
I think that Budda has come up with an acceptable alternative to the regular loaction if iit is acceptable to the decision makers, but I do believe that the discussions and other details shoul be left to private emails. Just my .02!
And by the way thanks to everyone who makes each and every event possible during the year!

Here's a list of some of the hotels in Houma.

There are some dirt bags, but I don't think anyone would care to stay there so I didn't list them.

I've got 2 contact numbers for Theo. The marina is (985) 594-8232 and his cell # is (985) 209-6726. I told him that he could expect a phone call from one of the organizers.
