Does anyone ever make any evening trips to either the Lake Ponchartrain or Rigolets area? I've been working a lot and the only time available is in the evenings. I've been out 4-5 times out of Bayou Lacomb when I can because its close to work and home. So far the only thing I've caught is a sunburn and a headache from too many barley pops.

I would be willing to try an evening trip. How late would you plan on staying out?
There is lights on Lake P from a pier near the end of Rat's Nest Rd. And also from behind a camp at Irish Bayou.

Here's a freeby for ya'....
Launch at Lake Cathering Marina about 7:00 or later.
Head to the right as you come out of the marina.
Hang around until the light on the piers at the camps come on.
Put a DOA (no cork)...I like the clear with red tail or green tail...
Cast just outside the lighted areas and slowly twicth/reel
into and through the lighted area...
Be prepared for some AH to tell you his dock is private...
Don't even acknowledge him, just paddle on to the next dock...
Sometimes takes until about 10:00 PM for bait to show up
and trout will be there shortly after...

I'll stay all night if the fish are biting or will go in after a few hours if they are not. My schedule is pretty flexible so let me know when you want to go.

Right now I'm good for either one or maybe both. Tuesday night sounds good.

I may try to head out to Lacombe this evening if I have time. I still have the yak loaded up from yesterday (I was too exhausted to unload it after the sun whipped me), and I don't have to wake up early tomorrow!

What time do you plan on going? I might be able to get away this evening.
