I found a spot where the water was crystal clear and grass bottomed, off the road between Boudreaux Canal and Robinson Canal. It's where the old communications tower was - down a little shell road into the marsh. I'll be there for 5:30 Saturday morning if anybody would like to join me. I'd bring a few weedless spoons as well. I feel certain on red's and maybe some mule trout.
For location, check out Area Maps - Terrebonne Parish - Hi Tech Maps and click on the link. You should see a dot off the road between Boudreaux and Robinson Canals that says Lake Boudreaux - Old Comm Tower. That be the place!

heading that way Sunday in the flats boat! I'll be looking for shallow grass ponds and those reds!!

-How should I calculate tides for northern lake boudreaux? Thanks for the help! We'll be at Sportsman's Paradise for breakfast by 6 (hopefully)...feel free to stop in

Look at the tides for Cocodrie and add about 2 - 3 hours for the inside change.
You'll be passing by the old comm tower on your way down to Sportsman's. If you have a chance, check it out. You'll be able to get in there in the AM while it's high tide. I'll also post a map where I fished this morning. One cove in particular with grass and red's. Here's a picture of it:

Nearly skunked today. One 24" red and that was that. Several swirls near bait. No bumps on spoon and too grassy fro spinner. Thinking of getting a prop bait to run across the top of the grass. Regardless, I'm heading back to Dularge!!

Here's where I fished in the pond across from the Robinson Canal water tower in Lake Boudreaux.

instead of heading south during the winter head north for winter trout actin too. I've been meaning to get down there and beat that area up. The grass can't be any worse than magnolia. What you doing Friday?

So far Rev, nothing on the plate. I work part time as a delivery driver so I should know Thursday if I have to head in to work on Friday. It would be a pleasure to spend time with you on the water!!

Buddhaman,
I was supposed to be making a trip in the morning (6/23) with my cousin to Coon Point in his bay boat but we scrapped it because of the low pressure in the Gulf. I would like to fish the Dularge area either Thursday morning or Friday morning (before the heat and storms begin) I bought my yak in March and have done some pond fishing in B.R. but have been looking forward to a chance to get down to the marshes and fish for reds. I've fished Dularge for years, but always from a bay boat and don't know of accessible waters for kayak fishing. Please advise.

Musicdoc, there are two launch spots that I like to fish out of Dularge. The first is at the very end of the road, past the oyster boats, down a single lane shell road to where the road ends with a turn around. The other is a little up the road just as you cross over the levee, opposite of the Dularge locks. I park on the road and not on the property of the camp up by the locks. Both are easy access and plenty of reds. I went this past Saturday late afternoon after the thunderstorms. There are still a lot of small shrimp popping on the water top along with mullet and minnows. It takes about 45 minutes to drive to the end of the road from the Intercoastal/Navigation Canal bridges. Here's a map of the launch spots. Hope you have a great time fishing!!!

Buddhaman, I'm very familiar with the end of the road. I'll be there in the morning. I plan to launch to the left at the end of the road. Looks like lots of "skinny" fishable water. Maybe I'll see you down there sometime. I've fish south of that location for years now. I do plan to start slow and not go too far. Don't want to get caught by any storms. Tight lines!! Musicdoc

I went today. Took three home. Lost one at the boat and lost one trying to put it on my stringer. Speaking of stringers, any suggestions on how I can get my crate AND a 48 quart ice chest on my yak? I'm thinking about getting a split cooler and then put my crate on top of the back half. Then I could throw my fish in the ice chest via the front half. Any ideas? I did have a really big one bust my top dog early on. Didn't hook him though. Big adrenalin rush though!
