Walleye and I are going some place. Thinking about south end of the Hwy 11 bridge and may be hit the R/R bridge. Could also hit Irish Bayou from there. But open to other suggestions. Any body else going?

Cantseethetrees and I are hitting an undisclosed spot about 36.0 miles up from Venice at a path over the levee leading to an oyster shell backdown - recently featured along with Jfisher in Louisiana Sportsman...

You know how it is guys, tournament time. Can't give away our honey hole.

Planning on hitting the Slidell side of Hwy 11. Hopefully the weather will cooperate better than last weekend.

Where do y'all launch on the north end. Is there any place to get live bait? What time are you going to launch?

Thinking about hitting Mag in the am to make a meat haul for the neighbors

Swamppro, I was in Mag last weekend and the grass was real bad and I don't have much luck when it is thick. Guess I need to learn some tricks or something. With the lack of tides this weekend I think I am going to try the lake.

Be safe on the northshore tomorrow if you go. The wind is supposed to be from the south which means waves on the north side. I'll be heading south 23 to mag, good luck all. Derrelt, you can launch just as you cross the hwy 11 bridge(old boat launch) or take the first right and go to the end of the road(rock and gravel parking). The boat launch will take to the train tracks and the right turn will take you within two hundred yards of the twin span. You can use Google earth to follow the coast if you want to look at it tonight.

My brother-in-law and I will be out at the south side of Hwy 11 to fish tomorrow in the am. This will be our first time, any pointers?

Yes, mag is open in the marsh so far. I was going to hit the lake but with south wind the north will be rough and dirty. Derrelt, I love fishing the grass! I like to get deep in it as that is where the big girls lurk. It is a different type of fishing when the grass is thick. Sometimes you need to just finesse them to strike. Cast something that looks natural on top. I love frogs for that. Just twitch it across the top as natural as can be and you will see the grass move then boom!

Yes, mag is open.
Chick, paddling out to the railroad trestles/rocks is what I have found most productive. I have also found trout in the flats on the way out there. A couple of weeks ago I fished it and found neither. If the wind is too bad on the north side in the morning I will have to go to the south side as a back up.
