i signed up to be a volunteer for the National Wildlife Federation as a surveilance team. This is basically a volunteer service that serveys the area of intrest. Wedont have to clean up the oil or anything like that it is basically just observing the wild life and collecting some data. If we see oil or any signs of oil like tar balls for sheen then they give us a number to call.
Anyway i thought it would be a nice idea to get the club involved as a team. We are able to get to places deep in the marsh with out disturbing much of the wild life around it so that is a big plus. Basically if we feel like a nice paddle just leave the fishing stuff at home and go paddle into the closed areas of fishing and report what we see.
Everything we need will be on the webpage that i will provide. As soon as I get the Password to enter data into their web page I will give it to the club so who ever wants to go for a nice paddle and collect data can just log on after and load the data/pictures that they take.

Everything we need is provided on this page. The printable data is on the right hand side of the webpage. Basically we can print out the data sheet and bring it with us when we go out to servey. Many phones have a GPS or if anyone has a handheld one that would be great.
I hope some of us can volunteer for this. I think we can really help out with our kayaks.
