With the recent outbreak of flippers. Can someone please post some picks of how they are putting the noodles on the rods so they float. I have a spinning rig.

Use pipe insulation. 4-5 inches is enough. Use 2 zip ties. Here are 2 photos of a couple of rods rigged with the insulation. I have since gotten a couple of low-profile reels and the insulation works well with those also.

I have spinning reels. Academy in Houma sells something similar to the pool noodles that I use. They come 3 to a pack and each end is tapered. I leave them on all of the time as they are not as bulky as pool noodles, nor are they pink. Down side of having them on all of the time is that the velcro straps they come with aren't secured to the foam very well so I took them all off and reattached them with small zip ties (2 each). I admit, I have not tried to see if they actually float my rods on purpose. But I have yet to drop a rod overboard accidentally. My take is, anything is better than nothing.
I can take a pic of what I use and post it tomorrow if you want...

Bass Pro also sells the rod floats. They are made by Blakemore and come 3 to a pack also.
Here is the link.
