I'm gonna try Bayou LaBut tomorrow morning. T-Irv's is at the very end of Grand Caillou Rd (past 4 Point Rd - Bayou Sale Rd). My Father In-Law and Brod in law picked up 7 red's by 8am this morning. I'll post later on the trip. Looks like the planned trip is about 5 miles total.

Where I'll be fishing is just west of Bayou Grand Caillou and 29 21. I hope that I've read the new closure restrictions correct ... Sweetwater Pond is just east of Bayou Grand Caillou and south of 29 21 (closed). 29 21 heads east til you get to Bayou Terrebonne and then follows Bayou Terrebonne north to 29 30. Bayou Terrebonne and 29 30 heads east (which includes the closure of Madison Bay and PAC and all south of 29 30). Man, now that's confusing!!!

Never thought I'd have to do chart overlays and decipher GPS coordinates to fish inside waters ! ! !

A good morning! 2 red's (one small 16 1/4 and one decent) The small one caught on a Storm clear shrimp and the larger caught MirrOLure Top Water Prop Bait (black w/ chartreuse head). The tide was out, but even though, the red's were up in the marsh gorging themselves on little minnows. (incoming tide when I finished fishing at 9am). I actually launched down by the fuel dock past T-Irv's (where Bayou Grand Caillou and the Houma Nav Canal intersect) and parked my trucked near the fence of the fuel dock. I really hate leaving my truck where no one is around, so when I came in and loaded my yak back in the truck, I stopped by T-Irv's to see how he could help us. Now, if you launch from T-Irv's, you'll add about an extra 15 minutes to you paddle/peddle. So I asked T-Irv about parking and walking (a very short distance) to where I launched my yak. Talk about service ... $2 for parking and he'll drive you down to the "point". Anyway, it's good fishing back there, and if fishing opens back up again to the east of Bayou Grand Caillou, there are a lot of ponds between T-Irv's and 4 Point. The icing on the cake is his Grande beers are only $1.50.
