Waiver: http://bckfc.org/oldsite/waivers/TroutChallengeIII_Waiver.pdf

The hosting errors are probably from your browser pulling from your browsing history rather than the site. As the new site works it's way into your history, that will stop.

Would all persons registered for the Trout Challenge III please check the list at the top of this thread to make sure the info I have posted is correct! This is the list that will be used to compute the winner placements and the calcutta payouts. Thanks, Steve

Some night time spots are: dugas camps, spicers bayou, calcaseiu point LNG, deatonville camps, herberts camps. Or you can bring a lantern/light to an area; or fish under the moon.

Thanks Choupique for the suggestions... I know there are several people that have not fished this area and are a little concerned as to where to go and fishing a night.

I have never fished that area, nor am I asking anyone for their fishing spots, but can someone point me in a general direction as to where I can fish and still be safe?

From looking at the aerial maps, lake prien around the 210 bridge seems like an ok place to fish, but I'm worried about being in the path of a barge. The north side of west cove also looks pretty good, but is it too far away from the weigh-in location? Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Chickapin, This may or may not help, but here are a couple of links to some articles in LA Sportsman on the lake...http://www.louisianasportsman.com/details.php?id=674, http://www.louisianasportsman.com/details.php?id=637, http://www.louisianasportsman.com/details.php?id=616

Hope these help you on making some decisions....

No mothershipping what-so-ever.

Only human powered = no Sails, motors (gas, electric, combustion) or anything that is not paddled by your arms or legs.

Launch start time is 12:01am, not before

Fishing start time is 12:01am, not before

Wade fishing or bank fishing is allowed within 50yrds in sight of your Kayak - NO dock fishing

DQ from the tourney will result if not followed.

Now.....let's all have fun and catch some fish. Lawd knows I need to get on the water

Just to be clear, I thought fishing time was 12:01, but you could launch earlier to paddle to your spot. Or at least that's the way I remember it from previous tournaments. Am I wrong about this?

Dang, looks like alot of folks want to get cranked up early. At the weigh in, I'd like to hear how many fish were caught in the dark. I've never caught squat before daylight, except in bass tournaments.

Last year, i launched at 4am, didn't catch until 7am, and that was a flounder. No trout until 9am at the earliest. Caught 2 at 11am, right before pull-out.

I'll be glad to sell the Halo for $25 but you have to come and get it:cool:

You will need a significant battery to keep it lit for any sustained amount of time.

10ft of pipe - roughly 15feet of wire. Alligator clips on the end

;)

100% correct. I think everyone should stay off the water till daylight. Could not agree with the prez any more. every one should wait till... lets say 1130 am. Thats what I think.

Dude's gotta launch at 12am from Hebert's to peddle down the Grand Bayou wier, then across to Long Point, then hit reefs in Turner's Bay, then get back to Hebert's in time to load up and drive to the weigh in. Trolling Corky the whole time.

all those insects falling on the water will attract some huge trout - in theory. OK $15 but you have to meet me somewhere close by (I'll be fishing Friday till about 2 in leeville - come on someone has to be that stup... er I mean serious about winning?

OK, I have just updated the registration list again and the good news is we have broken the greater than 30 persons mark so, that means there will be a 5 place payout...1st thru 5th place wins cash.

Make sure you have sent your waiver or registration in and it is on the list or it will not count! Thanks, Let me know if anyone has any questions. Steve

The tournament director is Wact (Fred Trahan) for anyone needing to know who to report to and who is in charge. His decision will be final.

Choupique
03-25-2010, 08:16 PM
don’t it have to be over 30? (which it is anyway; so this is a waste of time... lol)

Branch_Office
03-25-2010, 08:19 PM
No, because there was a different payout for under 30! Which it was until a little earler this evening.

under 30 participants only pays 1st-3rd
more than 30 pays 1st-5th

points still get handed out for 1-10

"Trout Challenge III Payout AND all other Tournament Series Events
As mentioned on the TCIII info page if we are under 31 entries, which would be 30 or less, the Payout will be 1st-3rd and not 1st-5th. Below is the break down of the 1st-3rd place %'s:
1st - 55%
2nd - 30%
3rd - 15%

Other than that, if we reach 31 entries or more it will be:
1st - 40%
2nd - 27%
3rd - 18%
4th - 10%
5th - 5%
We still have a couple more days, so hopefully the pot will grow as does the participation.

I think the Calcutta "maybe" up to about $90, but do not quote me on that, and that too can change with more participation."

Per posting by Wact on the event site on 3/23.

In addition, the calcutta is up to $125 at this time!

I emailed Wact the final list earlier with all the specifics. I think we ended up with 34 persons registering for the tournament...So, 5-6 people will win some money tomorrow on the Big Lake. :buttrock::buttrock:
