Is this to small of a yak to fish out of in reggio? It is the only thing I can get my hands on without buying one and I really want to try this yak fishing out. Also, does anyone have any tips on what to bring. So far I have a soft sided cooler, milk crate rigged up with rod holders, tackle, pliers...

make sure you have a safety whistle clipped to you in a useable location, other than that in a yak that small you will want to keep your gear to a minimum. Also your height and weight will matter a lot in determining if the yak is too small. It is smaller than most people use but it may be fishable until you can get something longer. Generally speaking you don't want to go shorter than 12'. The lack of good tracking (the kayaks naturally ability to keep a straight line while paddling) on shorter kayaks makes them harder to paddle.

I will probably have the gear listed above, maybe a little more. I am 5' 10 ish and about 150, also I will not be going to far from the launch. Its the only thing I have to use until I have funds to buy a yak.

Wear you pfd and give it a shot. Not sure what your paddling experience is, but just be sure to keep the bow pointed directly into any wakes/waves and you should be ok being the much of a lite weight. :)

Cool, there shouldn't be much boat traffic.

The Pescador 10 is a great kayak. It is stable, fishable and well laid out. I fished one for a while and loved it

I have a pescador 10 and it is my first yak also. i really like it but am learning that it is a short boat, but fishable. i will be looking to demo some 12 footers at the next masseys demo day. but it is great for a starter boat. i've also added an anchor trolley, another rod holder, and fish finder. like they said above point the nose into the waves and have fun. i have not been to reggio, just fish mostly grand isle now as i am still learning places to go. have fun!!

Thanks, I built a crate yesterday with 2 rod holders, bought a soft sided cooler, and a dry storage box. I don't have an anchor but may bring my cajun anchor if I can find it, but I just plan on hitting the broken marsh for reds.
If you do not have an anchor then for the first trip out just get some decent rope from Home Depot or wherever and a piece of broken concrete block. HD often has broken pieces in their outdoor section and will give them to you. Any number of things you can use for a stake out pole. I like the expandable paint poles since I can adjust the length. They do not hold up to saltwater more than about a season, but what the heck.
