Never fished PAC before, would love to make the trip. Where are you planning on launching from?

google Island road montegut la
There is a launch on the East side, combat launch elsewhere.
Look for a green F150 with a double pwc trailer, that's me.

I checked it out on google maps, are you talking about the launch at the north or south end of Island Rd? Or do you mean PAC marina?

OK this is a common problem with Island Rd. It "feels like" it is an east west road but is really North South. So you really have to listen to what people are saying to figure out what they mean. If you want to be really confusing you are really talking about the formal launch site being the NE on the road then the combat launch (not too bad during the summer) being the south western part of the road (top of the Island).
there clear as mud.

Good point rev and exactly correct. I will usually start at the formal launch. Fish that for a while then combat launch further down the road (south). I do that because I know where some gar are and they fight which is fun for me.

Thanks for clearing it up. Will plan to meet you that way in the morning. Any suggestions on lures. I always carry gulp, spoons and a top water or 2. Anything special they really eat up?

I may join y'all...what's the best route from N.O., once I leave Hwy 90?

After you get on 90 exit onto 182, then find and turn left on 3087. Follow that down until you turn left on 316. 316 dead ends into 55, turn left. Stay on 55 until you see 665, turn left again. Continue on that road until you see Island Road on your right (just over a small bridge) and you are there. If you get lost I will pm my #, just call.

I'm working - sorry too late to help but was working yesterday:biggrin:
They love the gold spoon, and I find they love purple and gold and advocado and gold (chartreuse).
Cocohoe and/ or shrimp under the cork can be effective there as well.

Not a terrible trip today. Reds were on the small side for the most part. I did catch one 17" with 8 spots. The amazing part was watching Reel Rebel land three fish in 60 seconds. I think he limited out at 9:30 ish.
We both got our limit. Nice little trip before the oil creeps in.
I have a video I will post later.
