you could try the Frank Davis Fishing Pier by the Seabrook Bridge. It's hit or miss, but it is fishing on a pier under lights. Bring lot's of terminal tackle and some live bait, too. IF the trout are there, you could do very well.
That's an easy drive from MidCity.

Seabrook is closed at this time. I'm working on Bill Capo and Frank Davis to help us out.
Seabrook is NOT a place to go if you're not experienced there, especially at night. Currents can be treacherous and anchor holds tricky the closer you get to the opening of the pass. Plus, you should have lights to be visible to other water craft that can come flying out of there.
Just so you know.

Probably a bit late, but Sunset Point in Mandeville has been pretty decent from what I hear. Its open 24/7, lights, restrooms and video security from Mandeville PD.

Sorry guys. Didn't know Seabrook was closed like the other piers and launches. Going by memory. Besides, I don't recommend fishing from a yak there, only bank fishing if it was open.

Straight off the southside of the pier, back towards the shore?

I've watched one guy catch a limit two of the times I have been out there. Live bait is the key.
