I was wondering which kayak was better for a beginner?

A Perseption Sport Pescador 12' or

A Heritage Redfish Angler 12'

I would say the pescador for the simple reason that that was my first yak and I loved it

Both are fine kayaks for a beginner, they are very similar.

That magic 12 in the FS section would be a step up for probably around the same price, wouldnt have to upgrade in a yr either. :-)

The Pescador is hard to beat. It is essentially an older model of the Tarpon 120 afterall....

I know how much stuff you bring, you need both of 'em.

I fished from a sand colored 12' Pescador for a couple years and caught a lot of fish from it. I still have it and was recently thinking of selling it. It's equipped with a front and rear harken anchor system, a cheaper eagle depth finder, two rear flush mount rod holders, a Scotty power lock rod holder up front that I used for trolling, and two sets of scupper plugs.

This is not a new kayak. The underside has scratches from reef, but there are none deep enough to cause any issues. I have the battery in my new kayak, so you would need one. I would be willing to let it go for $450 as is, or i could reinstall a battery in a pelican case for $500. I'm located in Lafayette. I'll post a new thread tomorrow evening with pictures.
