I have been thinking about getting into kayak fishing and was referred to the club. Read a lot of the posts and took everyone's advise and I waited until Massey's had their demo day today. Took my boys and we tried all kinds of yaks. Had a great time. (Thanks Cody) Unfortunally I got bit by the Hobie bug, they are great, but the price can put a dent in your wallet for just starting out. I tried the Hobie - OB and Revo, like the Revo. If I can't swing the Hobie then I liked the Native Manta Ray 14 or the Jackson Cuda 14. Looking to fish fresh and salt. I'm 5'8" and 195 lbs. Checked the classifies but couldn't find any deals. Like the post BigMac is offering for sale but can't swing that much. Suggestions/Advise welcomed. Anyone in the Covington/Mandeville area looking to talk yak fishing over some coffee let me know, my treat. Thanks Darrin

Howdy fellow newbie! These folks are always a great deal of help and are nice as can be! Check out Craigslist for kayaks; you can find amazing deals on there. Id love to help you in anyway I can. And if you can change thst coffee for Coke and maybe a beer id love to meet up with you and chit chat. Tight lines!!

you need to go over to seal sports and check out the malibu kayaks. they have several models that are in the same class as those boats and a nice discount for club members. go do a demo in the lake. I am also on the northshore and fish over here a lot.

Welcome. Hobies offer a lot for the price and are very versatile overall. If your still looking, I recommend to demo a Jackson Coosa or Cuda. The have a great deal of innovations and seem very stable. Don't limit your kayak searches to just this site, there are some good deals on the texaskayakfisherman forum as well if you are willing to make a drive.
