In a kayak?
If so Tickfaw or Natalbany River. River claritry would be dependent on the rain tonight.

Also there is a small combat launch that people back there trailers to mudboats down right out of Ponchatoula that is a very hot spot when the sacs are running I know. I have never been but it sure looks "fishy".

If fishing from bank just say so. There are a few spots for that too.

My cell is in directory if you want to call.

Ponchatoula Creek or Yellow Water Creek. Launch at either one....either one of the brdiges on Hwy 22 on the west side of Ponchatoula. On Hwy 22 between I-55 and Sprongfield. There are actually 3 bridges. All with a spot to launch and all possibilities for you. Ponchatoula Creek, Yellow Water Creek and the Natalbany River. Like Racechaser said though, water clarity may be an issue with all the recent rain.

There's a spot on the side of I-55 just before getting on to the southbound rasied portion of I-55. ALWAYS see folks fishing from the bank.

Which is where you would be fishing from that combat launch I spoke of. Like a 1/4 mile paddle and there is a lot of potential.

I pass over the Manshac pass at 6:15am every morning this week on I-55, all I see is a crab boat checking his traps. Occasionally i see a bass boat working the shoreline ith his troll motor.

I had lunch on the Lakefront at Southern Yacht Club, I noticed I didn't see one pelicans and fewer seagulls flying around, Ususally I see 8 or 9 flying around. no one was catching fish at the point either. Maybe I'm being hyper sensitive about it I will continue looking this week.
