Crab looking popper

Has anyone made any type of popper to look like a crab? Rather not reinvent the wheel is already rolling. Have a few ideas for trying (key word):lol: to make a crab looking popper. Maybe out of balsa wood.

Something like this with a gurgler style lip would probably do the trick. I would sandwich the hook shank between two layers of foam though

I tied a few of those several years back, similiar foam crab pattern tied by Danny Ayo. One day at Golden Meadow I found reds picking off scads of small crabs swimming thru a cut. Tied one of those on and it was on!

Haven't used them much since but no reason tbey wouldn't work.
