nice catch...not fair man!
I haven't been down there in a year, so I have no idea how rediculous this might sound: Can you launch a boat at the canal? We normally launch at Sportsman's and ride north, but I was just wondering if there was a closer launch to north of lake boudreaux

As soon as you cross the bridge at Boudreaux Canal heading towards Cocodrie, pull over onto the right shoulder. You can then back your vehicle all the way down to the canal and launch. You'll see the lake to the west ... about a 10 minute paddle/peddle. I've fished the rocks to the right as you get out of the canal into the lake. There's also a bayou right by the rocks that you can go up into. I also have fished the bank of dead trees off to the left as you enter the lake. Plenty of red's, but there's also a lot of roots from the dead trees to get hung up on. All in all, it's an easy trip.
If you'd prefer not to leave your vehicle down by the side of the bridge, you can park and launch at the old Crab Connection parking lot which is located less than a 1/4 of a mile below the bridge on the left. You'll see 2 boat launch slips there. An old lady lives in the elevated trailer to the left of the parking lot. She'll charge you $5, but then again, your vehicle will be in a well viewed location. Hope this helps!!
