Yes according to the last map I saw it was. Magnolia is above Empire, and Empire is open.

I called Myrtle Grove earlier today (just up the road) and they said they're open, have live shrimp and market bait. I therefore assume Magnolia is open for the time being and I plan to be there myself tomorrow at about 9 AM after I drop my wife off at work (kayak on roof--she'll love it).

Magnolia is open. I went today in the afternoon. Shrimps and small baitfish are everywhere. I did manage to rescue a 30 in red from the oil! Right now there's a lot of puppy drums and small sheepheads. I'll be back out there tomorrow at 6am.

If I'm not mistaken, the Empire channel is the boundary of the closure. Therefore, Buras would be closed.

Lemme know how it goes at Magnolia. I want to try it next week.
Like Joni Mitchell once sang.....Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone....

Fishing from a light-blue Ocean Kayak 16' tandem. Will be at the Grand-Bayou intersection for specks or way in the back down the pipeline for reds...
