Best price is at Academy. I thing they're about $17 there while they run as high as $30 at some other stores.

Academy IS a club sponsor.... look at the banners as well as they give us door prizes for demo days and tournaments. If it were an item that required some detail for installation then maybe but this is not brain surgery! I always try to support club sponsors first and then look elsewhere when they do not have what I want or there is a BIG price difference.

I've got a wilderness systems tarpon with the slide trx. Do I need to buy another piece to put in the trax then attach the scotty rod holder to it? or would the scotty already slide in it?

It looks as though there is a mounting plate offered by Wilderness Systems that will accept anything you want to add to your yak without having to drill holes.

Looks like you can buy a base plate for $30 to mount a $17 rod holder. HMMMM

Give me a few minutes to look at what you have and I bet I can come up with something a LOT cheaper and just as good as that $30 mount.

Try old foot supports to see if they fit the track, then try duilding something from that starting poit. Maybe PVC.
