Has anybody tried these. I've "tied" a couple over the last few days, but, I haven't been able to try them yet.

I've tried the furled leaders that I made using this method with 6 lb. mono for fresh water and they work great. I have not tried them in salt water, but I'm thinking of making a few with 15lb. mono.

I tried to make some last night with a drill as the input source. A tangled mess. Much better to just do hy hand.

Ive made them. Pretty easy if you have a jig set up. I use 2 lb flourocarbon for my wet fly version and 2 lb mono for poppers. I can try to do a step by step of my process if anyone is interested.

I made my first furled leader today following the instructions in the video. It's really a lot easier than I expected.
Valvguy1, after the mild mess I had doing mine by hand, I can only imagine what would have happened if I would've used a drill.

sure can. Making them with a jig makes it alot easier to use a drill.

Talk to Dan at the next RSFF meeting. He makes them with a jig and a drill.

Yeah. I saw that. Last year at 101 or something he was making them JUST as we had to leave for JRs soccer match. I didn't get to watch. I figured Gairi would fill me in, but, he was at the soccer match when I got there.

Here is the jig that i use. It makes a leader that is a little less than 5 feet long. I usually use this leader and add a length of 8 lb mono on the end. Works pretty good for me.
Measurements:
D -> E = 10"
E -> F = 19.5"
F -> A (cup hook) = 35"
D -> C = 19"
C -> B = 22"
B -> A (Cup hook) = 23"
Not the most refined tool, but does the job nicely.
