Since I got a new boat, I needed a new light. I really didn't want to put many holes in the new boat so here is what I came up with. It was designed to fit inside one of the rod holder sleeves on a Yak-pak III, but would also work great attached to a milk crate. Should have taken pictures as I went, but as you will see it is a real simple project.

Materials list:

12-volt Stern light
Round stern light base ( I used a Perko base because of its diameter. Most others were much larger in diameter)
9 inches of 1-1/2 inch PVC
1-1/2 inch PVC cap
batter holder for 8 AA batteries
"9-volt"-style battery connector
rubber stopper

Assembly Time: 5-10 minutes

That definitely falls into the "why didn't I think of that" category. Nice portable unit for any kayak.

haha...actually I did this Friday. I spent yesterday in the yard trying to beat the rain to get as much done as I could. Spent the day today at the office. Gotta get everything in line if I am going to take a few days off next week. See you then?
