Okay, go over it with me and anyone else not familiar with the procedure one more time....
1. Where is the toll booth and where do you enter on to the toll road?
2. I stop at a KIOSK to get toll ticket WHERE?
3. Do I pay with cash or credit card?
4. Do I deposit toll ticket someplace?
5. Is there a toll both ways?
6. How much is the toll?
Thanks for the help...
Surf, There are a couple of kiosk type places along the way, but most folks probably use the facility in Golden Meadow. Go inside and pay with cash or credit. Make sure you have our license plate number when you go in. There are several signs along the way so you realy can't miss it.
There is no "tool booth". Cameras are set up at the entrance to the bridge to record license plate numbers. Truly the best or at least most convenient method for payment is online. It is Geaux Pass or something like that.

No toll booth or tickets. All done by video, computors and/or Geauxpass. Example: You make a trip over the bridge Southbound from Leeville side to Fourchon side. If you have a Geauxpass tag, the scanner reads it and your account is deducted. If you don't have a Geuxpass, you can either go online and set up an account, prepay for a trip or pay after a trip. You have up to 4 business days after a trip to settle your account. Your license plate will be video'd when you cross the bridge Southbound. I usually stop at the Main office in Golden Meadow on my way home after I have fished. You either give the nice lady at the window your license plate number and she will enter it in the computor or you can do it online there at the office. You can also get day passes at a number of KIOSK sites.

Toll facility in Golden Meadow can be missed, especially after dark. I missed it but then again, I'm a dorkfish.
It's about 2/3rds (?) of the way through Golden Meadow on the back road. It's on the right hand side of the road as you're headed south. It resembles a rest stop more than a toll booth.

There are a couple of places to stop and purchase a toll. There's one at the trcuk stop on the Hwy 308 side of the bayou. There's the Chevron Jubilee truck stop on the back rd. (Hwy 3235) behind Golden Meadow and then there's the manin toll facitlity on the back rd., too. BIG BLUE SIGNS. Hard to miss, but then again, I was looking during the day. I think it is $3.75 for a p/u truck pulling a s/a trailer. You pay for a trip. That's 1 trip down and back. You need plate numbers from your truck and trailer when purchasing you pass.

I opted for the tag that sticks to my windshield. I think it cost me about $32-35. That included the tag and $25 of credit. Once the balance falls below a certain amount they charge my debit card. Bought this last summer and haven't used it yet. Time to go fishing. I think the tag also works on the causeway.

And the GNO, as well.

Just buy a Geauxpass and be done with it. It works for both the Crescent City Connection and the Hwy 1 bridge. You can manage your account online - no stopping at kiosks or searching for coins.

Most have already been answered but I will answer as you posted...
1) There is no toll booth it is done with video cameras. You enter almost at the old Bobby Lynns (now called Tyds) and there is a blinking light there as well as lots of signs before you get there. It will be a big entrance ramp going to the right.
2) There is a kiosk in Golden Meadow (again lots of signs) on the right with plenty of parking. Make sure you have your license plate number with you when you go inside. You can pay with a credit / debit card and it will give you a receipt. Hold on to it in case there is any questions at a later date. You can also go online to www.geauxpass.com and purchase one or as many passes as you want. That is the easiest way to do it. You do not have to post your ticket anywhere (like the dash) as the cameras read your license plate number and goes from there.
3) The kiosk machines only take credit cards - no cash.
4) No, you just hold on to your ticket for reference. There is no place to put it... no stopping at any time.
5) The toll is for round trip. Actually the toll is only charges for the trip down, no charge coming back.
6) The toll is $2.50 for a car or truck if you are pulling a trailer I think it is an additional $1.00 or $1.50. The web site will have all that info for you.
It is much easier and quicker to do all this online if you can and even purchase multiple trips that are good for the future. At some point I think I read the advance purchase tolls where only good for a certain time then they expired but I could be wrong on that statement.
There is also a kiosk at Tyds (the old Bobby Lynns) right inside the door on the right. Again credit card only - no cash. The store is open until 8:00PM these days I think.
Hope this answers all your questions, if you think of something else feel free to pm me or post up again.

Okay, thanks for all the info....I think I can handle the trip now without worrying about missing a toll booth or something. Gonna do it on line before I go...

Just added money to my CCC tag at the kiosk/building in Golden Meadow a few weeks ago. On a side note, I was wondering how they could catch me if I didn't pay the toll. I carry my kayak in a pick-up with the tailgate down and a bed extender. The license plate is simply not visible unless the you have a low mounted upward tilted camera. I would never take a chance for any amount, but it had me curious.

Cajun_Caster, that has been discussed before. They probably could not but for $2.50 why chance it. Besides, they need to pay for the rest of the work to be completed as well lol. Eventually this thing is supposed to tie into Hwy 90 at Raceland. Probably not in our lifetime though but wouldn't that be nice!
I got my first speeding ticket in Zachary from a video camera. They supposedly make a spray that you can get and spray your license plate and the camera can not take the pic. Don't know if there is any truth in that but a can will do 3-4 plates and cost about $15. Might give it a try..cheaper than the ticket lol.

One more important note:
If you accidentally drive on the LA 1 Expressway without paying, you have 96 hours to call customer service (1-866-662-8987) or visit a customer service center to pay the toll without incurring additional fees.

Steve, they make a clear cover for your tag that blurs the numbers when not viewed straight on. Supposed to make the camera not see all the plate clearly.

derrel, that LA State Trooper woman that comes in the shop and is always looking for Sidney to do something "on the side" for her has the tag on her personnal car sprayed with that clear that blurs the image taken by a traffic camera. You can easily tell it's there with the naked eye.
FWIW, the offense os called "improper display". May net be much of a fine, but anything that henders vision of you tag, ie: spray coating, clear, smoke, colored covers and even trim rings that cover the outer edges (almost got that one) are ticketable.
In the end of it all, there's no reason not to just pay the piper.....

I just paid for a Geaux Pass Tag online. I forget to pay before and after on the day of the trip, but I got tired of paying online each time later. Still crossing my fingers I didn't forget just once. I figured it's worth the $52.00 start up so I don't have to think about it anymore. Gotta be cheaper than the ticket.
