Sasha is a 2-3 year old border collie/lab mix. She is a little shy at first, but warms up and is very sweet. She is presently living in a foster home (with me). Please call 225-266-7778 if you would like to meet Sasha (this is the number to the Denham Springs Animal Shelter, you can also call me or send me a message). She will make a very loyal and loving pet. She is very intelligent and learns commands quickly with patient training (she already knows the basics: sit, heal, down, stay-still working on this one). She was an abused dog and because of that she does not respond to commands that are given in "angry tones". Her favorite rewards are a pleasant "good girl" and a belly rub. She was a wonderful mother to the 9 puppies that we helped her raise. They have all gone to new homes and now Sasha is ready to find her new home as well.
Adoption fee is $50.00, which include first vaccinations, worming, rabies certificate and spay/neuter. Shelter hours are Monday-Sunday 9-4.
Sasha is up-to-date with routine shots, rabies, and is spayed as of March 26, 2010. She has been treated for heartworms and should test negative in about 6 months with continued use of Advantage-Multi (a once per month topical flea and wormer prevention). She has already finished the antibiotic portion of the treatment. Vet records from Animal Hospital Associates of Denham Springs can be provided upon request.
If you or anyone you know would like to adopt Sasha please let me know ASAP. She will also be at the adoption days at the D.S. Petco occasionally but due to her shy nature, I don't think she will get noticed too easily amongst the bouncing puppies.
