Ok so I have been a member of this forum for ohh 5 years I guess. I had a canoe for a while but at 16 feet it was a bit much for me. Work took over then no time to fish. Finally I decided to jump in. I went ahead and started off cheap so I can make sure I enjoy it then I will upgrade.

I got an apex 100 on the way which my wife can use once I upgrade.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to sure I can stand and fly cast from her but it will get me started.

I say first time yaker, more like first time owner. Got to paddle down in St. Croix and paddled over in the atchafalaya basin area a bit. This will be the first time with rod in hand though.

Yak-a-Lou,

Remember the Gonzales tbell 5 years ago? I was behind you in line and we chatted a bit?

If you wanna hit bayou manchac for a little paddle around time, PM me and I can show you a spot about 3 miles off the Amite river. I'm in Prairieville, so it shouldn't be too far from you.

Love it there. Really laid back. Some of the best food I have ever had! Pricey though. There are some places downtown Tarpon will swim right up to you, but your not allowed to fish in this spots. Rented a new jeep for the week was around 250 if I remember right. Left the doors unlocked and nothing inside just in case.
