So does anybody know the name of the green slime which grows in our waters during the spring. Hit my favorite honey hole this morning out of Lafitte and could not make a cast without a pound of this stuff hanging on my "weedless spoon". Long story short I caught one suicide bass who I let live for another day. Great to be back on the water...............

Fulminous algae. Useless piece of information #1742 that takes up space in my head.
A faster retrieve, keeping the spoon just barely beneath the surface can help reduce it. You can't, as far as I know, completely avoid it.

I knew someone mentioned it recently in another post just couldn't remember who said it.

The koi and goldfish pond people call it blanket weed. Makes a small fish weigh 10 pounds.
