Just picked up my new hobie oasis from the backpacker. Thanks to Miller for putting everything together so fast and for the great deal. I can't wait to slime it. http://tapatalk.com/mu/446bfeeb-6454-5b64.jpg

Nice ride Adam. Congrats. Man if you put two Evolve troll motors in that thing it will fly. Of course that would only be a $3800 option.

Don't be silly; the shark can just ride in the front seat.
That thing should haul with that long of a waterline and two drives.

Two drive? Won't that exceed the Outcast power rating?

Only if he figures out how to connect them together....maybe a piece of pvc pipe from the front drive to the back???

Damn that's a good idea. Might try to do that and see how fast I can go. Might be a good long distance yak if it actually works.

Make sure you start the GPS to get an accurate speed. I would be interested to know how fast it goes as well. Try it with just one set and then again with both sets.

Awesome ride Adam.........hell and I thought I was crazy for wanting to put dual 30lb thurst trolling motors on the PA?

Awesome ride man! That thing is gonna fly! I like the PVC idea for dual thrust... The epitome of the term "double time"! Can't wait to see it and what kind of speed you can get out of her.

What would a squid know about double time when you're the epitome of lollygag!?

Awesome ride Adam,
Why the change though? Do you plan to bring friends and familey or do you just want the added capacity?

I've always wanted the oasis. I bought my outfitter last year and as soon as they announced the new 2011 oasis, I knew I had to have it. The Oasis is a lot faster hull then the outfitter with a higher weight capacity. it also has dual rudder control and a large front hatch. I was just waiting for someone to buy my outfitter so i can get it. I will take it out sunday to Venice to see how much faster it is then the outfitter.

Is it more like a tandem revolution or tandem outback? I know how agile you are, but how do you think the stand up stability will be. When solo you will be in the rear seat right?

You're right devil dog, the only double timing I did was to the chow line on our air conditioned ship while you were pounding the sand(albeit with a 10 year offset old timer!). Much props to your dedication....I think??? By the way wait till you see my new sail mast/boom... Looking forward to giving a Marine a ride again someday soon!

It's more like a tandem revolution. From what I read its the fastest kayak in the hobie fleet. I'm going to bring my gps sunday to get some numbers. With the dual control, i can choose where i sit but it will depend on how well the kayak turns from either position. I hope its stable enough for me to stand and fish but if not its no big deal. I bought this kayak mainly for offshore fishing.

Bring both pedal drives. After we fish we can see how fast it can go with 2 peddlers and a tailwind.

Remember that you need some weight to balance out a two person yak if only one person is in it. Watch out for being tail heavy, as water can enter through the rudder cables if it sits too low in back.
