Just picked up my newest member of the fleet. 14 ft Manta Ray Brick Red. The fleet gets more colorful.

I'm going to keep this boat pretty clean but I will post picks once I get it rigged a little bit.

Thanks to Blake for putting together and awesome deal! I'm pumped. Didn't get it in the water yet because the rain started right as I was about to turn towards Golden Meadow. Now I'm not sure but I'll at least get it in the bayou soon.

I've been using a MR14 now for 3-4 years, and can say it is the absolute best fishing kayak that I have paddled. Fast, stable, and you can drop the fish right in that left footwell to measure him. You will love that boat.

It's my next addition as well, Rev. Congrats on that sweet ride!

...You will love that boat.
I believe it. Hope to have mine by late summer.

That is something I noticed about the Manta Ray 11 when I was at Massey's in BR yesterday. Those things have some really deep footwells.

Thought I saw some footprints in there just fore of the seat area. Did you try standing in it? If so, how stable does it feel?

Those things have some serious storage area in the front hatch. Things could get lost in there.

Just me standing on it in the driveway. I can stand in it but not enough to cruise around. This boat is my speed boat.

The storage is ridiculous. I can fit everyting in it but it gets to be too far away. It also was covered with chalk in this picture because it was next to the climbing wall at Massey's for so long - lol.

Yeah they were sitting right next to each other in the warehouse. That versa board was looking pretty awesome too.

I tried a few paddleboards at the demo yesterday. Versa was not as comfortable as I expected it to be. That had another yellow one that was really nice but I can't remember the name. I think it was the yolo board. Blake said the company is designing one with rod holders as well.

Did the Versa you tried have that nice swivel seat? ($200+ option) I've been thinking hard on the Versa - like the way it looks but like you need to test one. Looks to be a great swimming opportunity!

Well I slimed the Manta Ray today so it is thoroughly broken in and I've placed my order with Hook 1 and YakGear.com. Service was outstanding as usual. Great Sponsors!

I saw one of the manta rays at the demo day. Good looking boat. What did ya order to rig yours?

Couple of extra scuppers from yak gear - just in case for the back well.

Then the basics, pad eyes, chord, stainless etc to put together my anchor trollies. I'll put 4 pad eyes front and back for net, ruler, tow rope, etc.

Native's new paddle clip only works on a paddle with nothing on it (hard to explain) so it's only good for holding my stake out pole so I'll add a couple of j hooks to strap down the paddle I've decided to just tie bungee to the handles for the straps (not pretty but effective) (I did get some crimps to make it look cleaner.

Already put one of the round flushmount scotty mounts (the hand screw on ones you introduced us to a year or two ago) will put two more behind the seat for trolling.

Will eventually mount the depth finder I won at PP8. It's going to look sharp. Not too much rigging but just right.

And I bought one of those life gaurantee cooler bags from AO Coolers (http://www.aocoolers.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=9) There's a ton of space between the seat and the well and my "ultimate cooler" just doesn't work in this yak. Think I'll enjoy it. All thanks to my pending tax return of course.

The sealed cupholder behind the seat is a great spot for phone & keys. The one btw your legs can hold lures, granola bars, or some dead shrimp if you are using bait. the straps on the left and right handles work well to hold stakeout poles and paddles, w/o adding anything. I placed two angled flush mount rodholders, one on each side btw seat and tankwell. My next boat will be a newer model MR14'. Just too good a boat compared to everything I've paddled.

fully rigged do I call it "the Redfish" or the "Dirty Bird"?

Nicely rigged, Rev!
An MR has a beautiful silhouette, but an angler's personal rigging makes it look oh so fishy.

Well done, sir.

Well, since the NMR doesn't come with the Propel drive option...I guess this is as close as Rev can get to "drinkin' the champagne"!...:hide:

Congrats on a beautiful yak...

Happy Easter!

Calling it the "Dirty Bird" might get you classified as an Atlanta Falcon's fan. Not sure if you want that.

I tried the NMR 14 today while I was out fishing and have to say several things about it: the seat is awesome it was so comfortable, I managed to stand and paddle even with the wind, seemed to track very well, seemed to sit alittle higher then in the standard sot, might be hard to cartop cause it seemed to a bit heavy. Also used the Bending Branches Whisper paddle and was not impressed maybe it just takes time to adjust to another paddle. Rev I see what ya ment about the paddle needing to be bear to use the paddle holder not a big deal at all though.

You should be able to stand on a 2x4 and fish being 5' tall and 100lbs wet. Hahahaha.
