Went out to Pack and Paddle yesterday and picked up my new bassyaks kit. Skip and John were once again great to do business with and as always P&P gives a 10% discount to club members. Took the Diablo out to Hopedale today with Grape Ape and was very pleased with the way the motor performed. At full speed the yak does between 4 - 4.3 mph according to my gps but not sure how long the battery will last at full. Can't wait to get out in the mine for Outcast next week. :buttrock:

Awesome set up Eric. It truly is hands free fishing and I am sure it will be money well spent when the wind is blowing.

The battery I fits in the front hatch out of the way. I am running a portable deep cycle battery from Academy, $44.99. I ran for about 1.5 hours the other day with no problem. The battery is 23ah and weighs 21 lbs.

I was in pack and paddle Saturday afternoon. Skip showed me some pics of yur ride. I also talked to the diablo rep at the sportsman show and she mentioned your build as well. This of course has added to my inability to make a decision on my first ride. Congrats though it's a great looking ride and the propulsion system seems alot closer to a fair price for a trolling motor. It just kills me that the volt system and a hole add 800+ to the cost of a native. They won't sell the boat without the systems either. I'll bet you start seeing people by the regular native ultimate and add a bassyack vs the volt. Sorry if I got off topic.

Nice addition. Not as nice as the one thats coming in a few months, but still nice. Eric, what material is the Diablo made from? Don't think it looks like polypropylene. How do you think the Diablo will handle scratches and scrapes in comparison to polyprop. yaks like Hobies?

As far as I can tell the material will show scratches because of the smooth finish. The material seems to be really tough though.
