A few months ago I added outriggers and this week put on a "removable" anchor trolley and casting platform for stalking reds in the marsh. I bought some sink connectors and put them through holes for the rod holders. These help hold the platform in place. It is also notched to fit into the brackets for the outrigger and one of the eyelets that stuck up also needed a hole. I also braced it from below with a couple of 2 x 4s. The net effect is that the platform is very secure. I waterproofed it well with Thompson's and added some anti-slip material to help hold me or anything placed on the deck in place. Also added the fish ruler given out at last October's FnT. I'm working on my push pole, but may just opt for my paddle as it will be easier to carry around. Tried it out in the pool, and the deck is moderately roomy (but not quite spacious) and is very stable with the outriggers. I made a few faux casts and it felt pretty safe up there. (Now I just need to add the tuna tower and I'll be set. :))

Sort of. I left space at the end so that the tackle box just fits. If you pull the tackle box then you can reach in under the deck. I think I can chunk fish in there. There will be a little water in the front drive well, kind of like a live well.

Nice job, doc! Very nice.
Since you have the pool, may as well practice transitioning from standing/casting to kneeling/netting because...
...that yak's getting red-slimed this summer, for sure.
