Like many good ideas, this one is stolen from some other tournaments!

At Paddle Palooza, we will hold a special raffle—“Tackle Palooza”

Here’s the simple details:

1.To enter the raffle, you donate one item or group of tackle items valued at $5.00 minimum.
2.The items must be new and unopened. We’re not looking for crap!
3.NO lures or items that are contained in the tournament gift bag are eligible for entry.
4.Each person is limited to one entry.
5.One winner will be selected by random drawing to win all the items entered- a real Tackle Palooza.

Everyone that enters will have an equal chance of winning. Please donate your favorite lures so that the winner will get a tackle box full of fish-proven stuff. Multiple lures can be combined to reach the $5 minimum value i.e. two gold spoons. Plastic tails and jigheads, popping corks, etc. are welcomed, but the total value of your donation must be a minimum $5 value.

Remember, you must plan ahead and bring your entry with you to the tournament. Next time you’re at your favorite tackle store, pick up the item(s) you plan to donate for entry. You can't "buy-in" with cash. You must make a tackle donation to enter.

Hopefully we’ll get a lot of participation and one lucky winner will take home a lifetime supply of great tackle!

I'm thinking of bringing a favorite Mirr-O-Lure She Pup.

Nope. Rules are that only one entry per person is allowed. Everyone that enters will have the same one in whatever chance of winning.

As I said, this idea was stolen from other tournaments and that's how their rules work. I assume it is for some good reason. Not wanting to reinvent the wheel, that's how we'll do it too.

Yes, I'll be running it. I will have a basket or something for the lures. Turn in a lure, get a ticket. We'll put names on the tickets and winner need not be present. Only one entry per person. we'll draw just before the rest of the awards are given out.

I'll have the tickets available at both the captains' meting and the weigh-in.

Hey guys, I just want to keep this thread on the current page.

The raffle will only be nice if we get a bunch of entries. Remember, each person can only enter once, so everyone will have the same one-in-whatever chance of winning. You can't enter with lures given with the Captain's bag so you have to plan ahead.

We will get names/phone numbers/e-mails address on the entry and the winner does not need to be present.

I think he was referring to guys and gals (we have over a dozen ladies entered) who have to leave early.

Where Y'ak?
03-21-2011, 12:42 PM
After giving it considerable thought, the Tackle Palooza raffle is limited to only those that are signed up to fish the PP8 tournament.

Not saying that anyone would, but this could also be used as a way of getting around the one entry per person rule.

Sorry guys, but I think this is the fair way to do it. As far as not having to be present, I don't think someone who ponies up $5 for an entry should be disqualified in the event they have to leave early.

This is just another benefit of participating in the tournament.

Don't forget to bring your lures!

A few questions:

Will lures be collected Friday night?

Are accessories acceptable like lure boxes etc...

As for those not registered why not do this at 1 or 2 club mtgs during the year?

Where Y'ak?
03-23-2011, 05:36 AM
NEW lures and/or fishing accessories are accepted as long as the total minimum value is $5.00. We're not looking for junk. The lures will be collected both Friday and Saturday with the drawing at the prize awards on Saturday. One entry per contestant. Winner need not be present.

We could possibly do this at other events also, for now this is the first time trying it and we'll see how it goes. Make sure to convince your friends that are fishing the tournament to participate.
