Prize structure is coming along. Found this a minute ago!

Where Y'ak?

Well it's obviously a fact of last year's participation. Each event last year gave away 3 yaks with close to a $5K total value. I believe participation numbers only averaged 20-30 per event. Even with the new structure, you're looking at about $4K in prizes per event.

I'd have to agree with where-y'ak...

I don't necessarily like the cut, but they can't keep shucking out prizes with the participation like it has been.

We'll see if the lower entry fee attracts more participants. At the end of the day, for me at least, it's a fun tourney, win or not.

Maybe they should look into PaddlePalooza. Numbers look pretty good over there, a rev and his relentless endorsins(I think)... I could see a full ride from Hobie increasing participation 60-100% if marketed correctly.

6 weeks out:

Just counting T-shirts we are at 41 registered for PP8 if you haven't seen it yet you need to go to the T-shirt thread and type in your shirt size(s), name, number of shirts - pay pal account if different name.

I am good for the first two Louisiana events but will have to do some rearranging of my work schedule to get the last one or drive over to Alabama. Have to see how it play out.

Pretty sure I'll be at all 3 Louisiana events this year. So will my brother, that's a 10% participation increase already hahaha

I will be a participant this year, not just a spectator, and I will be at the 3 LA events and possibly a few more.

Chris, look at the bottom, the payout is based on 100 boats. Do you have anyn idea what the prizes might be for less participation?

The top 3 places are guaranteed as well as big trout and big red. 4th and down are based on participation.

I will not be able to compete this year, I am just hoping it will be around next year. I am just now making my first tourney with BCKFC.

Even jacksonville only had 29 people fishing. This is just my opinion they should do more club interaction, I remember 2 maybe 3 posts from club memebers about both orange beach tourneys from the members of Mobile bay kayak site. Here much more interest. Rev redfish should be there pr guy, I have been impressed with how much info he got out for PP.
Anyone who doesn't plan to fish it mind saying why they are not interested.
