For those who plan to fish the IFA this year, registration is up.

http://ifakayakfishingtour.com/menu/registration.html

It is a little different this year. Tournament fees are $75 per tournament.

There is also a payment option for Angler Advantage of $25. I can not find anything explaining what this is yet.If anyone knows or finds out could you post here so the rest of us know.

I have not looked it up yet, but I wonder if the prize level has also changed. Perhaps they were listening to what folks were saying about entry fees.

The registration is the only thing that has been updated on the site. I plan on sending an e-mail to get more info but I have not had time to do it yet. I will send it tonight from work.

Have you received an answer yet? Could I use my American Airlines Advatage Club miles?

Funny Bruce. That would be nice for you but I don't think so. I will post the answer as soon as I get it.

This was posted on the IFA Kayak Tour forum Friday morning by Stardot.

The IFA Kayak Fishing Tour has extened to the Kayak anglers the highly successful Angler's Advantage program that worked so well for the IFA Redfish Tour in 2010.

What is Angler's Advantage? In the case of the Kayak Tour, it is an optional $25.00 entry fee that pays back 100% IN CASH to the top finishing participating anglers at each event. The payback ratio is 1 place for each 5 entries. It is possible on a 100 Kayak field that 20 entries would share a $2,500 payback, with $500 going to the top finisher who participates.

How much does the IFA keep for this? Nada, nothing. It's all 100% paid back at the event.

What about 2011's entry fees? The 2011 entry fees have been reduced to $75.00 per event. So, you can still pay $100 and be in the Angler's Advantage OR Just pay $75.00 (and leave the Angler's Advantage cash on the table if you finish at the top of the field.)

What about prizes? There have been some changes that a lot of guys are going to LOVE... More details to come soon.

Thanks Sherman for staying on top of this.

I am home sick this weekend so I have had plenty of time to check things out. I really like the new format and I look forward to fishing in at least 3 tournaments this year.
