I have been looking for a small gasoline generator to power light yard equipment, tv, etc. when outdoors or camping. I like the Hondas, which seem to be quiet, but a little pricey. Any suggestions for favorite generators?

Hard to beat a Honda, they are the best

We use a handa at LSU games and man is it quiet. Never had any problems...well worth the extra bucks. Puts out "clean" power so you do not have to worry about frying anything. Very important when using it for a 50" wide screen TV !!!!

The Yamaha's are great, too. But your still in the same $$ category. Either are tuff to beat.
Money not being a concern I would vote Honda as well. I have not had any problems with my Coleman, but it really only gets used for power outages.

We use a Honda at the camp. I'd hate to have to guess how old it is. They last forever.
I used a Honda 2000 during Gustav, ran a small window unit ac kept it 80 deg downstairs, the TV, fans, fridge which alternated with the outside freezer, one time my wife forgot and left it all connected, ran for 7 hrs on 1 fillup. I bought another one after so I can run the outside seperate from the inside.
When we had a houseboat we would hook 2 in series and run a 220 v AC.
I think they are worth the money.

Small Honda at my house. Just big enough to run a freezer, fan and light during power outages.
(I alternate between freezer and fridge - can't run both.)
It's about10-12 years old. No problems except I didn't use Sta-bil and let the carburetor gum up one time.
Mechanic friend of mine advises that you should run the tank dry before storing it and always use Sta-bil in smaller gas motors that you may store seasonally (mower, weedeater, 4-wheeler, outboards, etc...).

Not so fast gold spoon tipped with a minnow breath! Honda says to fill the tank and use stabil when storing. If you leave the tank empty, the inside will rust and plug up the fuel lines. I also run mine for a few minutes every month.

Can't beat the Honda for a number of reasons, clean electricity (computers and other electronics), 2kw can be connected in series if you need to, quiet, quiet, quiet.
There is also a way to hook up a 6 gallon gas can(boat) and keep it running all night!
Good units.
There used to be a brand that was an offname built by the folks who build Honda engines, but I think they got forced off the marlet bu lawuits. Sold out of Oklahoma and were 300 to 400 less than the same Honda. They too worked well.
