Has anybody ever been there? Leaving thursday afternoon for the weekend, as bad as I am a saltwater fisherman I am even worse at catching bass. Anybody have any tips. Ideas??
I stayed in the cabins one several years back.
Cabins are nice, they are on a bayou or canal, I had a boat so we went out in the lake, found it to be muddy and windy, did not catch a think as I recall, but I wasn't really trying all that hard.
It looks like Lake Verret, so I assume folks fish the cypress trees with spinner baits and worms, one thing for sure in a Kayak you should be able to go where ever you want.
The Lafayette kayak club may have more info?
Good luck

I grew up in New Iberia so I've been several times. Never really did much as far as going out in boats or canoes, we just fished from the piers. But I will say this, the gators in the area are not all that afraid of people and can get curious so keep a watchful eye out. Also, lots of snakes. I hate snakes! The only good snake is the kind that has a tag that says "some assembly required".
