I have installed a new transducer by using Marine Goop and seating it on the bottom of the hull. It will not pick up "all" the time. If I am stationary with most of my weight to the bow, it will read. While under way it is spotty at best. Going to attach picks of the mount. Do you thnk I should mount the transducer further back?
I think i got the photos to upload. The transducer is right below the GPS mount

If you're picking up any air or bubbles under your boat, it will be spotty. Also, make sure there are no bubbles in the goop. I'd move it to right under your arse.

Yes, it may be mounted too far forward and picking up some bubbles while moving thru the water .... try mounting farther back if you can and ditto on the air bubbles in the goop.

I was having the same problem. I tried mounting with marine goop, marine silicone and something else that someone suggested and couldn't get anything to work on the hull of my PA. Finally got a suction cup mount like Chuck has and haven't had a problem since. Might be another option depending on if you get something else to work or not.

Hummingbird has come out with this to mount the transducer for their models. It may work with others.

Normally, it is included with their kayak combo kit.
