might want to check the starter relay also

Make sure your main ground connections, engine block + chassis, are tight. Try shaking/moving/pulling on the cables
next time it happens. Listen + look for sparks too, be careful around the bat., gives off some hydrogen gas.
Have also heard of corrosion, possibly inside the cable(s)/connections, causing crazy stuff like that.

Forgot to ask the simple ?, did you take the cables off from the bat and make sure they are not corroded?

Follow the neg batt cable to where it grounds. Vehicles I'm familiar with, it grounds on the engine block. Check this connection as well
