Has anyone been doing any fishing out of Fourchon or in the LA1 area? I'm hoping my new kayak will be in next week and I will be getting it wet on Saturday.

Hasn't got hot yet in Fourchon. Friend went yesterday and caught one convict fish and another guy caught two small reds. Weather was great. Been down Hwy one two weeks ago one red only fished for two hours. Redass from the geaux pass machine !! Makes me not want to head that way !!!!

I went about 2 weeks ago and didn't do much. The geaux pass thing is a pain.

well, if the fish don't bite, I'll just call it a scouting trip for PP7 so I don't feel like I wasted a trip.

I was there three weeks ago and the day's highlight was getting up close and personal with an otter, right across from Pointe Fourchon.
I thought it was a good indication of how fresh the water was. I didn't think you'd see them that far south. Very few cars at the launches, and I saw a family catch some very small flounder along the La. 1 rocks.

We went down Hwy 1 Feb 28th and there were redfish everywhere, bulls and slot reds, they were practically jumping in the boat.
