We fished the point on Bay Juane, halfway between Sawmill and Catherine passes this afternoon on a falling tide and the trout - both specs and white were biting. We started fishing live shrimp off the bottom but they were robbing more free meals more than we were hooking fish, so I switched to a 3" natural shrimp gulp. That stopped the thieving but didn't slow the bite at all. My buddy stayed with live shrimp and our hit rate was about even but he sure lost a lot more bait that I did. In my mind, this was a true testament to the effectiveness/reality of the gulp baits. We ended up with 22 trout in the cooler averaging 13-14" but as big as 18". My buddy even hooked 1 gaff-top catfish that weighed a solid 6lbs.
It was a fun afternoon, but I failed to get pictures.

Good catch! My brother and I went to the L&N bridge and Hog Island Sat. am. There was not any tidal movement till 10 am. We only caught 2 trout. The time to go was definetly in the pm.
