View Full Version : Choosing the Right Lure Seminar / Oct 19th P&P
Choupique
09-16-2010, 01:32 PM
If anyone wants a peek into the mind of somebody with OCD, specifically in how said person would try to make scientific sense of what lure to use in a range of given condition variables... Join Hobie at Pack & Paddle, October 19th for the LKFC meeting tuesday night for a talk and slideshow presentation on lure selection. I will show charts that will hopefully describe what works for me when choosing a lure out on the water in a broad range of conditions and how to work those lures. Steve and Lisa Oxenford from Hobie will be on hand to answer questions as well! Hope to see some of you out there the Tuesday after FNT.

I think that is a great idea. A picture book with all of your secret spots. There would be text of course. You have to put when to fish each spot, what lures to use and any other important info for the rest of us that need some help catching fish.:hide:
Seriously, I think that a book would be a great idea.

Wish I could be going, but I'm out of town. Choup had a great presentation for the Red Stick Fly Fishers group back in March. I hear he's gotten better... no longer pronounces 'redfish' with a 'w' instead of 'r'.

Yes. We are. We might leave Pville as early as 4PM to try and beat the rush a little. Plus........ I probably need to feed him beforehand. Kids........ they take so much care. They think they should eat everyday. When I was his age......... walking uphill to and from school in the snow.............

Part of the Walker clan is going to be there. I'm picking Louis up from school, then meeting Dad in Port Allen at the Waffle House. May get a bite there or wait until we get to Lafayette so we can see how time looks. Probably wait. Valvguy, let me know if you wanna meet up somewhere in Lafayette to eat before we go to the meeting.

Yeah, other than the Mac it was a great seminar. The video of the tarpon hooked in Big Lake was nice to see. For people like me who don't know, could someone specify where it was hooked? Not exact coordinates... I think I heard LNG bridge. Where is that exactly?

I think thats over by Calcasieu Point Landing. Its not a bridge, its an LNG terminal (liquified natural gas).
