Who all is going? 2 day free tournament for those of us who fished both IFA events. :buttrock:

Iím guessing it will be Orange Beach sometime in early November. Should announce it soon.

09-13-2010, 12:55 PM
hahaha I was just getting ready to ask on here as I was on the IFA site

09-13-2010, 12:55 PM
I was hoping they would do it in La as we only had 2 events

09-13-2010, 01:10 PM
I'm thinking about going. Anybody wanna plan to share the price of a room?

Where Y'ak?
09-13-2010, 01:17 PM
I'm planning on going--just waiting for the announcement of a date and location. I'm a little dissapointed that they couldn't get this settled sooner. It will be tough for some folks to plan with such short notice. I know it's the first year, but you would think that the date would have been set along with all the other tournaments.

If it's in Orange Beach, I have a place that's only 30 minutes from there and can sleep a few for free. If it's somewhere else, I'll be looking to room share if necessary.

09-13-2010, 01:23 PM
Hope yall bring it home!! good luck to all of our guys that fish it.

09-13-2010, 02:15 PM
My gues it will be in Orange Beach. Like last year and will be on the 6 and 7th of November. What happens to where 'yak then ?

09-13-2010, 02:34 PM

The 5th is my wife's birthday and I told her it might be the 5th and i got the "look"

Where Y'ak?
09-13-2010, 04:28 PM
She's had plenty of birthdays and will have more. This is the First IFA Kayak Chamionship. Can't you make her understand that?

09-13-2010, 04:52 PM
The 5th is my wife's birthday and I told her it might be the 5th and i got the "look"

Was it the "rolling of the eyes" or the "tapping of the foot and crossing of the arms"? If it included the "arching of the eyebrow" then for sure you were close to death....

09-13-2010, 05:04 PM
Do you need me to talk to her. Guess that depends how bad you want to fish.... tell her you might win a mink coat or something....

09-13-2010, 05:21 PM
haha I thought it was for the 5th so I might be able to swing it. Rev it was more of pick up meat cleaver and roll eyes. I should be able to go though all joking aside

09-13-2010, 11:50 PM
I'm planning on going also. if anyone has room please let me know.
i was really hoping it would be here also

09-15-2010, 04:54 PM

NOTE that the tournament is on Friday and Saturday and the Captain's meeting is on Thursday night.

Just wanted to point this out for those that were planning on it being Saturday/Sunday.

2010 IFA Kayak Fishing Tour

Championship - Orange Beach, AL.
November 11th-12th-13th, 2010 Orange Beach, AL.

10-02-2010, 08:57 AM
I'll be there, but to have the tourney start on a Friday is silly.

10-02-2010, 09:25 AM
Yeah buddy. I took off a couple of days before, hopefully to get some prefishing done

10-07-2010, 09:29 PM
to get you guys ready... I know its boats, but cool anyhow.

10-07-2010, 11:35 PM
I saw that on TV when it came on a while back. Maybe 6 months ago. It got me excited watching them catch some nice fish.

I think they should include some kayak footage this year since there will be quite a few out there.

Payouts and more info is on ifa site. Payouts are very nice for the championship!!! Proangler + $1801.00 and great payouts from 4th on down. Big red $300.00 Big trout $300.00. I will plan on 1st and large fish to come home with the pro and $2400.00 bucks. Yall can have the rest!

10-15-2010, 10:15 AM
Need to discount the money by about 75% only one tourney had more than 50 yaks payout based on 100 per event looks like about 375 entrants when they expected 1800 !!!! just saying

10-15-2010, 10:29 AM
Yea Glwlsu is right.

11-07-2010, 03:55 PM

Congrads to Capt Chad Dufrene for winning the PB division using Marsh Works 3in Bayou Thumpers in Voodoo Brew color on our 1/4 oz bull red head. I suggest you throw the same my friends! He also took big red honors also with a 9.6lb slot fish!! Are you kidding me???? Good luck and be safe to all our members headed east.

11-10-2010, 10:17 AM
9.6lb slot red is SICK. That's awesome. Y'all BCKFC boys be sure to bring it home.

11-10-2010, 11:01 AM
9.6lb slot fish

I think we had something similar at FNT too! fat reds this year!
Chad kills it every year... They got it dialed!

11-10-2010, 11:07 AM
That had to be one of the fattest slot reds I have ever seen.

Good luck to all that are going to be there fishing. We are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning and will see everyone at the captain's meeting.

Even though I am not participating in the tournament I can't wait to fish new waters and see what I can catch.

11-10-2010, 01:00 PM
Finishing my packing and will be headed that way to hit the water for sunrise tomorrow

11-10-2010, 05:51 PM
doing the same packing up then head over for sunrise. see ya at the captains meeting:buttrock:

juswanna- thought you fished both tournaments

11-10-2010, 07:56 PM
I did fish both of them but I did not pay to fish them. Big difference there. I use any excuse to get on the water and dad needed an interpreter for them so I tagged along. Maybe I can get them to let me in anyway. I will see once I get there and talk to the people in charge.

11-10-2010, 08:44 PM
If they knew what it cost to hire an interpreter, they might think about it.

11-11-2010, 04:43 AM
Good luck everyone thats headed east. See yall tonight at the meeting!
