The Red Stick Fly Fishers hold their monthly program meeting tonight at 7:00pm at the Wildlife and Fisheries building in Baton Rouge. The public is invited to come hear Capt Jarid Malone, Fishing Manager of Orvis and fly fishing guide, who will talk on saltwater fly fishing techniques. Jarid is a very accomplished young angler, who when he turned 18, already had a captain's license, won or placed in several major tournaments in his native Texas, and held an IGFA record for speckled trout on 10 pound line (the trout weighed 9.41 pounds). He is a very humble guy who has been a terrific asset to our fly fishing community since moving to Louisiana!
