You need to look at amp hour rating. The more A/H you have the longer it will run.
2 hours is just enough to make you have to paddle back. :joker:
I use a 27 series Delco deep cycle. Has 160 A/H rate and will run almost all day. Does have some drop off after about 6 hours of hard use.

I have made an offer of $35 on this battery on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280465252859&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1177wt_1167 I'm waiting for the seller to accept or counter the offer at this time. You can Buy it Now for $45. That is the cheapest price I have found for that AGM battery. A friend of mine has that battery and he recommends it. According to what I have read online by the guy that owns Bass Yaks, 35 AH is sufficient for 30 lbs. thrust trolling motors. I think it will meet my needs for run time and weight, 25 lbs. Of course, your needs may be different.

By the way, I will be adding a 30 lbs. Minn Kota to a Tarpon 160 once I get all of the stuff together for the project. I have the motor and charger on hand at this time. I need the battery, wiring and hardware.
