Magnolia?

Thinking about going down to Magnolia this afternoon. Kind of a late start, but I've been tied up all day & gotta get out of the house. I'll probably get down there btw. 3 and 4. that should leave a couple of hours to fish.

Any tips? - never been to mag.

fish fisrt cut to left then corner (across from where bank fishing ends) There is a large pond on right, one way in and out. I'd fish the put in canal straight out. Minnows if you have them Tunami and gulp curly tail under a cork.

Sorry but I forgot to put up a post yesterday when I got back from Mag. Anyway I launched at 0715 fished till 1130 with only one bite. The wind was kicking my butt out there but the water was higher and cleaner then it had been so ya never know. Good Luck to ya let us know how ya made out.

yeah, I figured the water would be coming up with all this south wind we've been having. Mag should be turning on pretty soon

Well,

This was my first time fishing Magnolia and only my second time fishing out of a 'yak. The wind sucked but i was thankful for it after experiencing the amount of gnats at the launch! I caught 2 reds, only 1 keeper but perfect grilling size so I was pretty jacked. Used a gold spoon. I could have caught a lot more if I had gotten out there earlier - I didn't actually get down there until almost 5pm, so I didn't have much daylight left.

I didn't get any of y'all's tips until just now, but thanks anyway - I'll definitely be back to mag.

I caught the fish pretty much right behind the north point at the first intersection of the launch canal.

Water was maybe 7 out of 10, 10 being clean.
