Hey! I'm new to the boards and just wanted to say hello. I've had my yak for a couple of months now and wish I had go it years ago when I first thought about getting one for fishing! I'm new to the Mandeville area and am still trying to figure out how to fish the area, but I love it so far. Hope to see you out there!

:welcome: What kind of yak do you have?
Nevermind... just saw you have an X13. I had looked at them a while back when papawd bought his xtreme. I've been thinking of selling my MR and buying a magic, but now that they are being discontinued I was looking back at the malibus.
How do you like the X13? I dont think very many people on her have one.

Welcome. I'm in Mandeville and have been yak fishing Hwy 11 / train bridges and in Bayou Lacombe launching out of the Main St. boat launch heading north under the 190 bridge for bass when tide is low and out of the launch at the end of Lake Rd. for reds trout and flounder. I am heading down to Golden Meadow (Catfish Lake area) and Leeville area Saturday morning. I was going to Grand Ilse but changed plans. Depending on the day I may try some sunset fishing at the mouth of Bayou Lacombe at the lake Sat. if I get back in time. PM me anytime you want to try any Northshore areas.
Welcome to the addiction.

Thanks guys! BayouTiger, I love the X13. It has tons of storage space and is fast and stable. It's 13'10" long and 29" wide. The center and bow hatches are large and multi-functional. It has the "gator hatch", which is the huge bow hatch that is big enough to put ANYTHING in. You can even store your rods inside. The bow hatch also has a "seat" on it that is meant for bringing a small child along, but my wife is pretty petite so she can sit there comfortably. The center hatch is large and flat, which makes it a great place to stand and cast. Malibu also makes the Stealth 12, which has a bait well in place of the center hatch and two footholds on either side of the well for standing. All in all, great kayaks!

It's ok, I'm married to a Tiger so I support LSU. As a matter of fact, we got married the morning of the 2008 Bama/LSU game and our wedding reception was a tailgate on the parade grounds before the game. I would be more of an LSU fan if you guys would get yourselves a decent OC. Jus' sayin' . . .

Done with that spneless prick.. man got me going. Headed to hit that little white ball. Bonefisher looking forward to meeting you. Derrelt needs some help. He's out numbered !!!! I got mine at Seal Sports in Mandeville. Apparently, they're the only seller of Malibu Kayaks in the state.

For those that don't know it, Derrelt lives in a "house divided" as well...it's just he doesn't let his wife post up on the forum. :hide:

Welcome Bonefisher. Any help you need just ask. Lots of great people on here that are willing to help. I love the user name by the way. Bonefish are one of the best fighting fish you will find for their size. Catching bonefish and tarpon is hard to beat.

Cabela's carries Malibu, but I think they have a pretty limited selection.

Welcome Bonefisher. I have the same problem, my wife is a Tiger. I try to support the Tigers(unless they are playing Bama) but some of the people on here make it tough sometimes. Most of them think our coach is a A-hole, but he is OUR A-hole now. If he had not been at LSU, they would only have 1 national championship.
Looking forward to meeting you sometime.
