PAC Fishing??

OK, I have never been down to PAC area but plan on fishing this event! :shocked:

In looking at the map section there are 4 PAC maps. Which map should I be looking at and the launch area is located on which map? I may get a chance to fish once before the tourney but that may be iffy at best.

Looking for some guidance from you regulars down there....no secret spots or honey holes just general areas and such. :blush:

You need the one that shows The marina at the end of Island road.

Steve you can follow me if you want or I can tell ya some places to fish. Think of all the places to fish PAC is my favorite. Pretty
easy to get there from Kenner. Usually catch some fish. Not as big as Magnolia but there are some big boys in there.

Not sure which four you are referencing - however find the one with Island rd. running diagnally across it. That's the main starting point. From there it's dealer's choice.

Last year the winning stringer was caught to the east of Island Rd. (which runs roughly north south). Year before that both winning stringers were caught east of PAC Marina currently closed but can be reached by a 2.5 mile paddle.

I think many of us are trying new turf this year which hieghtens the fun factor in my mind. You can launch of the north end of the Island (which is the south end of the road). I'm considering heading south this year - you know me - way south. But I haven't been working PAC nearly as hard since they closed the road to fishing since my best spot is right off the bank.... crying shame that....

there is a starting point but that's all pre road closure now you have to launch at either end of the road and move on from there. the island marina is south of there I will see if I have a map on file.

Can we still put in at the compressor station? very limited parking though, we have to leave room for the workers to get thru the gate?

Has anyone been fishing the north side of Island Rd, or the East side of the WMA across the Bayou?

Ya gotta be sneaky at Sneaky Launch Site. It's a good place to launch from, but once you launch, you gotta move your vehicle outta there back where other vehicles are parked. Sneaky Launch Site is NOT on BP property!
