Does anyone know where to buy some quality circle ring crab nets? Not the $1.50 deal from academy, the thin string deteriorates quickly meaning lost crabs. I have a friend who has some real nice traps with thick string and a nice float where the lead strings meet to keep from flipping the crabs off. Thanks for any input.

If you post your location in your profile, people can look there to know to post close to your area.

There's a fisherman's supply place on Downman Road in New Orleans where I picked up mine. Made with coated green sting with the float. I think I paid around $60 for a dozen a few years ago.

The place on Dowman Road is
FISHERMAN'S NET & SUPPLY
4540 Downman Road
New Orleans, LA 70126
Tel. 504-244-8767

Also, the Times Picayune classifieds almost always has ads each Sunday for home-made crab nets under the "Hunting and Fishing" section.
