Went to Mag this morning with hopes of sliming my new ride. The wind was blowing a lot more than I expected. Barret (tidewater), was that you at the launch with your skiff? I thought it may have been you but it was dark out and didn't want to look crazy if it wasn't. I caught a bunch of ladyfish and 2 nice reds on a popper. Left pretty early because sight fishing was not easy today with that wind. Saw plenty of little gators, too. Sorry no pics.

Reds on a popper always fun!
I was told by a wildlife agent that if you spot gators at Magnolia, they are not to be molested.... EXCEPT for this one!

I think hogs and elephants are fair game there too.

kill 'em all and let God sort them out.... did I say that out loud?
Well had the same luck today as you did yesterday, LSUbeast. Caught 2 today 1 was 17" and the other 1 was 22". Water in the ponds seemed to be on the low and dirty side. Like yesterday, today's winds prevented much success sight fishing. I did stumble upon a school of fish busting on bait. I tossed a bunch of times into them before relizing they were drum and wouldn't go for a gold spoon. All in all after bring off the water for a month it was just great to be on the water again.
Also, it was nice seeing you'll again Dave and Shank.

Yap, that was me and my stepdad....We did okay out there. The weather was ****sville, but at least the sun stayed out. Thankfuly, the reds were pretty active, and we got on some school, tails, and pushes..but boat positioning was a son of biscuit.
We were in our pond for the sunrise and ate breakfast, waiting for the fish to stir.

One of 5 reds landed on the day....my stepdad's finger was in every damn picture and this was the only that didn't cover me up! (tried to crop it out)
