Kayak Shopping today in Baton Rouge

Thought I would share my experience with the group.


I looked at some good deals today in Baton Rouge:

Scrambler XT Angler by Oceak Kayak for $479 at The Backpacker

Caper by Ocean Kayak with seat for $439 at The Backpacker

Caper Angler by Ocean Kayak with seat for $509 at The Backpacker

Caster by Perception for $599 at Academy

Angler 144 by Future Beach for $499 at West Marine (Lafayette)

Does anyone have any input on these they would like to share? I have read some reviews, but I value the opinions of you guys...
I am looking for used as well but have had to drop my budget to $600 max and that is pushing it. I may be fishing out of my Old Town Voyager for a little longer-not a pretty sight...


P.S.
I saw a Tarpon 120 at Massey's Outfitters for $799 for those who might be looking and who have more of a budget than I do. Nice boat. If I had the dough I would buy it or that Hobie Quest that is for sale in the sale/trade section.

My first yak was a Scrambler Xt. It was pretty darn stable and easy to fish out of.

Have you been to ****s Sporting? i saw a fishing yak there that i remember thinking thats not a bad boat for that price... around $500
